| Description |
English: During the night of 23 April 1870, a quick clay landslide took place at Hokstad, Ytterøy, just west of the quay and the entrance to the mine Le Bretons. Seven people were killed in the disaster.
Norsk bokmål: Natt til 23. april 1870 kom plutselig store kvikkleirefall over området, rett vest for kaia og gruveåpningen Le Bretons. Syv mennesker ble drept i skredet. Overstiger Blewett hadde hus der, og kone og barn var hjemme den natten, mens han og eldstesønnen var på reise. Tre av barna omkom. I det andre huset lenger borte, bodde Lars Brænne, som omkom sammen med kona og to sønner. I Bursbukta gikk et nytt leirfall i desember 1943, omtrent samme sted som storskredet, men ingen kom til skade. |
