Description Looking south at the bellmouth to the Pleasant Street Portal. The left side is inbound tracks and the right side outbound, with trams to Columbus Avenue and Jamaica Plain.
The original description from the 1898 Boston Transit Commission annual report was as follows: SECTION 4--BELLMOUTHS, FOUR-TRACKS, AND SUB-SUBWAY UNDER TREMONT STREET, NEAR HOLLIS STREET (LOOKING SOUTH).
