Summary

Description
English: Robinson's Shaft, South Crofty Mine. This is now closed. The National Trust owns the 1854 Cornish beam engine in the tall building with the chimney. The beam can be seen projecting in to the modern head gear. This is one of the few Cornish engines in situ in Cornwall. The others are at East Pool (x2), Levant (rotative), Goonvean (derelict) and Parkandillick. There is one on display at Poldark and the Carpalla engine is in store at Wroughton.
