Summary

Description
English: Six Bells Colliery, Abertillery The ventilating plant. The blue drum and concrete ducting are the modern fan plant. The square stone chimney is the evasee from the earlier Walker "indestructible fan". (Evasee - this term is used to describe the ducting on the exhaust side of the fan and in particular refers to the divergent sloping sides that are hidden from view. It is a French term and in culinary usage refers to a pan with sloping sides.) These were very popular for colliery ventilation and were smooth runners.
