Summary
DescriptionSouth-east portal of Shrewley Tunnel, Warwickshire - geograph.org.uk - 1710222.jpg
English: South-east portal of Shrewley Tunnel, Warwickshire. The tunnel is 433 yards (396 metres) in length, and was opened in 1799 when the Warwick and Birmingham Canal was completed. Two seven foot beam boats can pass through the tunnel. The horses used to be led up the track to the right and through their own tunnel, to be re-attached to the boats on the other side.
