English: Thornbury Tunnel. Southern portal of the 168yd, single track Thornbury Tunnel on the former Midland Railway line between Thornbury and Tytherington. At the time the photograph was taken, the tunnel was open at both ends; it has now been infilled at the northern end and blocked by a concrete wall about 20yds in under the A38 at the southern end. |
